The Odd Couple

Neil Simon's Comic Buddy Tale

This 1965 Tony Award-winner is the original play behind the TV phenomenon! Laugh at the classic buddy tale of the slovenly Oscar and the uptight Felix as they try and manage living together. Surprisingly poignant and side-splittingly funny, Neil Simon's witty dialogue, vibrant characters, and hilarious one-liners have made him one of the most produced playwrights around the world! The Odd Couple will keep you in stitches as we look back at these men from another era and ask ourselves: has that much really changed?

*Pay-As-You-Can Preview Thursday April 9th 7:30pm requires no advance tickets.  Payment is accepted at the door prior to curtain.*

The Odd Couple is presented by Perseverance Theatre.

The Revelers

Dance, Stomp, Shout, and Have a Blast with Louisana's Super Group!!!

The Revelers, founding members of the Red Stick Ramblers and The Pine Leaf Boys... "unquestionably the two groups at the vanguard of the Louisiana cultural renaissance" have joined together to form a Louisiana Supergroup which combines Swamp-Pop, Cajun, Country, Blues and Zydeco into a powerful tonic of roots music that could only come from Southwest Louisiana.

As individuals, they are each in high demand having performed and recorded with T-Bone Burnett, Natalie Merchant, Linda Ronstadt, Preston Frank, Walter Mouton, Mamadou Diabate, the Duhks, Cedric Watson, and Tim O'Brien to name a few. As a group they play with a sense of empathy and depth that can only be fostered after years of making music together.

The dance floor will be open!

The Revelers is presented by Whistling Swan Productions.

Asian Culture Night

A legendary dog-musher, entrepreneur, and king of the Inuit tribe, Jujiro Wada was revered by many in Alaska and the Yukon Territory during the turn of the 20th century. Wada was born to a poor family in Japan and dreamed about the wealth of America. He set sail for San Francisco on a steamship at the age of 16 and labored as a cabin boy on on a whaling ship in Alaska where he acquired the English language. Wada continued his travels in the cold North and attained skills as a hunter, whaler, gold miner, dog musher, and business man. He worked for E. T. Barnette when the Fairbanks trading post was established, traveled amazing distances by dogsled to bring news, and even marked the way for the Iditarod Trail. Though he suffered countless hardships and cruelties, he remained strong and resillient, eventually leaving this world with his footprint in history.

Rhiannon Giddens

Rhiannon Giddens at the Discovery Theatre

“Rhiannon Giddens has become one of the most promising voices in American roots music … Tomorrow Is My Turn is a feminist tour of the canon … Giddens imbues these classics with a freshness and vitality that feels right at home in 2015.” - Rolling Stone

“What's most striking about Giddens' voice is its seemingly effortless ability to adapt to different musical styles” - The Los Angeles Times

“On her first solo album, Giddens sends her voice soaring, diving and soaring again through all kinds of songs…A gorgeous voice worth hearing today.” - People Magazine

Rhiannon Giddens illustrates the democratic way American music has taken shape and evolved: “The strength of American music is in bringing all these things together—Celtic, gospel, jazz, folk—all these things that make American music great. Putting them side by side and having a production that pulls it all into a cohesive whole shows how related all these things are.”

Her songs, says Giddens, “are all facets of the human condition.” Taken together, they answer the question Twyla Tharp posed at the beginning of Giddens’ solo adventure. Her album Tomorrow Is My Turn is a composite portrait of “Ruby,” of America, and of Giddens herself, whose turn is clearly right now.

Rhiannon Giddens' Band includes 3 members of Carolina Chocolate Drops.

An Evening with Wendy Davis

An Evening with Wendy Davis

Join us for an evening with women's health advocate Wendy Davis. The former Texas State Senator made waves across the nation with her 13 hour filibuster to kill a legislative effort that would have dramatically reduced women's access to critical healthcare services in her state. After a courageous 2014 gubernatorial bid, Wendy joins us to ask, "What challenges will women meet in 2015, and how will we fight back?".

We invite you to stand with Wendy and women's rights activists across the state, to support the crucial work of Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest!
