I Hate Hamlet

I Hate Hamlet

A young and successful TV actor relocates to New York where he rents a marvelous, gothic apartment. His television career is in limbo. Now the actor is offered the chance to play Hamlet onstage, but there's one problem: He hates Hamlet. His dilemma deepens with the entrance of John Barrymore's ghost, who arrives intoxicated and in full costume to the apartment that once was his. The contrast between the two actors -  the towering, dissipated Barrymore whose Hamlet was the greatest of his time; and Andrew Rally, hot young television star, leads to a wildly funny duel over women, art, success, duty, television, and yes, the apartment.
There will be an opening night post show reception.

I Hate Hamlet is presented by Anchorage Community Theatre.

Urban Yeti Improv

Frigid Affair

Urban Yeti Improv presents 'Frigid Affair' and 'Debauchery'.

Welcome to Urban Yeti Improv, the best improvisational comedy to hit the 907. UYI promises a unique and entertaining improv experience as performed by some of the state's greatest talents. Each show is unique as scenes are based on audience suggestion. Usually performing at the Alaska Experience Theater on first Saturdays, Urban Yeti is delighted to bring our first two season show formats, 'Frigid Affair' and 'Debauchery' to the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts as a special event for audiences to enjoy.

Urban Yeti improv is proud to present two unique experiences for Alaskan audiences:

Friday, September 5th - Frigid Affair
Frigid Affair will be a combination of short and long form improv based on articles from local newspapers. Old copies of the Anchorage Daily News, Anchorage Press, even the Juneau Empire still have so much to give. Come out and watch our performers create stories based on these and even more audience suggestion.

Saturday, September 6th - Debauchery
Debauchery doesn't explore how crazy our players are, it explores how crazy YOU are! Our performers will do scenes inspired by what the audience considers wicked, promiscuous and indecent. Come get your Debauchery on with us and enjoy an experience never before seen in Alaska. Content is recommended for mature audiences.

Tia Brazda

"A technicolor swing that's just the thing." - Globe and Mail

Tia Brazda's debut EP, "Cabin Fever" burst onto the scene in February 2012, hitting #1 on the iTunes Canada Jazz chart as well as receiving play on CBC Radio 1, Jazz FM 91.1 and college radio stations across Canada. Her music pays homage to the golden era while still remaining daringly modern.

Tia Brazda is the highlighted guest performer on the Saturday night open dance of Back 2 Basics four day swing dance festival, "Bal-aska" which starts Thursday 9/4/14 through Sunday 9/7/14. Over 28 hours of dance workshops, 13 hours of open dancing, dance and costume competitions are a part of this event.
