Urban Yeti Improv presents After Dark

Urban Yeti Improv

Welcome to Urban Yeti Improv, the best improvisational comedy to hit the 907. UYI promises a unique and entertaining improv experience as performed by some of the state's greatest talents. Each show is unique as scenes are based on audience suggestion. Usually performing at the Alaska Experience Theater on first Saturdays, Urban Yeti is delighted to bring two new show formats, 'After Dark' and 'Love is Blind' to the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts as a special event for audiences to enjoy.

Urban Yeti Improv is proud to present two unique experiences for Alaskan audiences:

Saturday - January 31st - After Dark
After Dark is a high energy, intense short form improv experience based on audience suggestion. Come get a little naughty with us in an environment where no censorshop is allowed. If you suggest it, we will take it and build scenes before your very eyes. After Dark is recommended for audiences 18 and older. You've never seen improv until you've seen it through the eyes of the yeti.

Saturday, February 14th - Love is Blind

Love is Blind is a unique experience where we take your suggestions on love and relationships as the inspiration for our scene work. Remember that first kiss, the first date? Come tell us about it to fuel an awesome comedy experience.

Anchorage Symphony's "Pride and Joy"

featuring Dane Johansen, cello

  • Haydn.........Cello Concerto in C Major
  • Mahler......................Symphony No. 5

Alaskans so enjoy the success of fellow Alaskans. In addition to the 80 remarkable ASO musicians, audiences will delight in the homecoming of Fairbanks native Dane Johansen performing Haydn's Cello Concerto in C Major, a work lost for nearly two centuries and uncovered by an archivist in 1961! A member of the Escher String Quartet and faculty member at The Juilliard School, Mr. Johansen has been praised for his "brave virtuosity" by the New York Times. Mahler's epic Symphony No. 5 takes audiences on an emotional journey from despair to joyous vitality, its conclusion described by one annotator as "a shout of laughter."
