For the first time, the ACO is presenting a chamber concert featuring members from the orchestra including Music Director, Tai Wai Li. Perfomring works of Georg Philipp Telemann Concerto a Tre for Flute, Horn and Continuo; W. A. Mozart Piano Trio "Kegelstatt," K 498; Alexander Mituxhin Concertino for Horn Quartet; Irvine Fine Partita for Winds (1948); and Michael Haydn Quintetto in E-flat.

Acoustic Africa features Malian superstar, Habib Koit, Zimbabwean best-selling recording artist, Oliver Mtukudzi, and guitarist/composer, Afel Bocoum, whose songs evoke the evolution of traditional Malian society. Together, they showcase some of Africa's greatest singer-songwriters in beautifully stripped down displays of acoustic mastery as they perform gentle folk songs from Senegal, blues tinged ballads from Mali and much more.

From the mind of Alaska's foremost Native storyteller comes a play that asks the question: Is it right to do a good thing in a bad way? Taking place in an unknown time, Earth is not as we know it. Three white students are attending a Native boarding school, where the Native teacher and administrator are doing everything they can to assimilate them, to make them give up their "heathen and godless" white ways, and become "real human beings."

Baskery is Greta, Stella and Sunniva Bondesson, three Swedish sisters who have been sharing stages since ten years now. Singing three part harmonies, playing acoustic guitar, six-stringed banjo and upright bass they create originals performed with a recklessness that convinces.
Hamell on Trial -- performing in and around the New York scene prompted Mr. Hamell to rediscover the roots of his hurricane-force musical style and authentic cutting edge world view. His response, The Terrorism of Everyday Life, is a one-man theatrical show which combines story telling, comedy and songs into a brilliantly outrageous theatrical event. Mr. Hamell explores family, politics, religion and death through his journey as a working musician, man of the street, and father of a young son.

This avant-garde, unorthodox show is part comedy, part performance art and part wacky science experiment, accompanied by a percussion driven soundtrack. The performers never utter a word, but instead use their eyes, facial expressions and subtle gestures to evoke responses from the audience. Although really it is almost impossible to describe, people of all ages agree that Blue Man Group's show is an intensely exciting and wildly outrageous experience that leaves the entire audience in a blissful, euphoric state.

A Grammy award-winning saxophonist, Branford Marsalis is a leader in both the jazz and classical realms. Marsalis has continued to exercise and expand his skills as a performer, and recently was called "an innovative jazz saxophonist who also happens to be a classical performer with phenomenal technique."
Terence Blanchard is an American jazz trumpeter, bandleader, composer, arranger, and Golden Globe-nominated film score composer. Since he emerged on the scene in 1980 with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra and then shortly thereafter with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Blanchard has been a leading artist in jazz. He was an integral figure in the 1980s jazz resurgence, having recorded several award-winning albums and having performed with the jazz elite.

The Calder Quartet continues to expand its unique array of projects by performing traditional string quartet repertoire as well as partnering with innovative modern composers, emerging musicians and performers across genres. Tyminski provided the singing voice of George Clooney in the Coen Brothers' Odyssean farce O Brother, Where Art Thou? His powerful rendition of the Stanley Brothers' version of I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow was given the numerous "Song of the Year" award while the movie soundtrack was also honored with the IBMA Award for Album of the Year, as well as the Grammy Award for Album of the Year -- a rare achievement for a soundtrack project.
